Sewing Classes

BLUSA 01 BLUSA 02
I’ve been having sewing classes, at Nähinstitut, at Moritz Platz – a coworking sewing space, inside Modulor (an amazing craft / material mega store filled with useful things to work).
They are organized by a spanish lovely girl – Anna Mendonza – and it’s 2 hours of fun and learning. It’s a relaxed thing, pay as you go and she teaches with specific projects we want to do – for example, a shirt or a skirt -, we then try to find a pattern that matches, in a magazine or we adapt it from an already existing one. Then our learning comes from the process of making the garment.
I never had skills to sew clothes, i only used to do straight stitching, because following a pattern and measurements always seemed to confuse me. But because the ideas i have, for clothing, are very simple cuts and shapes, my first class was quite easy and i am very pleased with the result – maybe some alterations for the sleeves and that’s it.
Tomorrow, friday, i’ll have a new class and i will take my own fabrics.

Very beautiful blog. And gorgeous creations at Nähinstitut. You made us want to mention them (and your review of them) in our blog about learning in English in Berlin. Although I understand that Ana’s classes are in Spanish? I am hoping to make time to participate in one of her courses myself.

    Here’s our blog post: http://www.englishyogaberlin.com/learning-in-english-in-berlin/

    Saudações,

    Pedro

      Hallo Pedro!

      Thank you : )
About the Sewing classes – I participated in a couple of them, but because of work, i stopped going. They are open to anyone, Anna is a very nice, helpful and easy-going girl and i am sure that if you don’t know Spanish, she will try to talk to you in english. It is a very relaxed class, anyone can show up with an idea, a sewing project to do and Anna will guide everyone through the process. Go when you want and you pay the hours you spend there. Check her Facebook, it is the best way to stay in touch with Anna – https://www.facebook.com/naehen.spanisch?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser

Saudações! Let’s see if one of these days i will try your Yoga classes!
